Noted Scottish artist and friend of Sydney Jordan, Colin Andrew assisted and ghosted Jeff Hawke in the early 1960s as Sydney struggled to meet his deadlines. Andrew's wonderfully detailed and beautifully dense artwork achieved a Gothic gravitas that elevated Jeff Hawke well above the standard SF strip fare of the time.
Here's a nice example from Survival, a fine story about near death in space, featuring Mac, as the crew tries to repair the space ship.
Survival is reprinted in Jeff Hawke's Cosmos V7 #1.
